Artist's Description
The roaring 20s saw the beginnings of the National Prohibition Act, which attempted to shut down the production and consumption of alcohol in the United States. As usual, people being as they are, quickly found many ways to circumvent the standing of law. Many locals began making liquor at home and a created what we now commonly refer to as bathtub gin. Others, with money and connections, imported beer and other types of alcohol from Canada and would sell it in a speakeasy where the party would begin. No doubt drinking and gambling was common in such place. This image celebrates the end of prohibition as per the 21st amendment.
About Paul Ward
Photography allows one to capture a single moment in time. Yes, its cliche, but its real. A life can change in but a single moment. My photography is intended to inspire, to sometimes provoke thought, to see beauty in the simplest of things. PLEASE NOTE: WATERMARKS DO NOT APPEAR ON THE 'SOLD' ITEM!
